What is Forever Living MLM company?

Forever Living may be one of the most popular MLM companies worldwide. The business is dedicated to health and wellness thanks to aloe-vera based products. The company is currently operating in over 155 countries with more than 9,4 million distributors worldwide.

The company is also known as “THE aloe-vera company”. It manufactures and distributes all over the world.

Who are the founders of Forever Living?

It is an Arizona based company founded in 1978 by Rex Maughan and Carl Jensen. At the time, Rex Maughan was impressed by the power and health benefits of the aloe vera plant, and that’s how all the business started.

His purpose was to produce a whole nutritional product line around this natural plant called aloe vera. In 1990, Forever Living acquired another company called “Aloe Vera of America”, and built their own aloe vera farms in Texas and Dominican Republic.

What is the Forever Living Product Line?

Forever Living has a huge range of health and wellness products, most of all based on aloe vera.

Among the whole aloe vera product range, you’ll find:

  • energy drinks, like juice
  • nutrition products,
  • personal care products, like shampoo, bath gel, toothpaste, lotion etc..,
  • skincare, like cleanser, exfoliator, mask, eye cream etc…,
  • weight management, like protein bar, protein powder, supplements, shakes etc

But, Forever Living also offers products that actually have nothing to do with aloe vera like:

  • bee products, like honey and supplements derived from bee,
  • essential oils,
  • accessories, gifts, bottles, shaker, diffuser, bags etc…

How to make money with Forever Living MLM?

So, maybe you already got it, there are some requirements.

What is Forever Living Compensation Plan?

As you’ve probably read before, Forever Living, like other MLM businesses relies on 2 ways of making marketing.

The first one consists in using the products yourself and recommend them to others.

The second one consists in recruiting others into the business.

In any case, and like all other MLM companies, Forever Living provides several ranks, bonuses and incentives.

With Forever Living Products, products sales have what they call “Case Credits”. The Case Credits are like point values and work towards various incentives, bonuses and most importantly, your compensation.

What Are The Pros & Cons of Forever Living MLM ?

What are the pros of the Forever Living business?

Without any doubt, one of the best points is that Forever Living is a business free to start. There are no sign up costs and you can directly log your profile and start the business.

Like some other MLM business in the same niche (Young Living), Forever Living has its own farms where they produce their own oils, aloe vera plants etc… (more than 6,500 acres of farm lands, which represents the largest aloe farm in the world!).

This indicates the hugeness of the business, the fact it is a real and legit company and it also ensure the quality of their products.

Moreover, Forever Living has been in business since 1978 which also indicates that it is a reliable company. The legitimacy of the business is emphasized once more by the fact they are a member of the DSA (Direct Selling Association).

Last but not least, note that all Forever Living Products are backed by a 60-day refund period. Which sounds great!

What are the cons of the Forever Living business?

The first bad point which is also the bad point of most MLM companies, is the fact that distributors sometimes use inappropriate tactics to sell the products. They sometimes give false claims…

The fact is that there is no trial, no study that shows the effectiveness of the products… we can only rely on the reviews of people. For some the products will work, but for others it won’t.

Moreover, the products are a bit overpriced some would say, and even bring on side effects for some people (like diarrhea, blood glucose drop, allergic reactions etc…)

Another bad point, like I said earlier in the pros, Forever Living is said to be free to start… don’t be misled by this “no sign up fee” mention. There are always costs involved at a certain point. Nothing is free, remember this!

The free membership doesn’t allow you to do much… so, in order for you to qualify for commissions, you better purchase products for about $280 and then pay like $140 per month to remain active in the business.

Like some other MLM companies (Nature’s Sunshine), there is no income disclosure statement. This shows a real lack in transparency. An income disclosure statement should be a mandatory document to reveal the income potential of the members. Why are they “hiding” it? does it show some ugly information? failure...?

Last but not least: RECRUITMENT… This one word already indicates the difficulty level of the business… this is the point on which most MLM companies rely. Enroll your family and friends… High risk to get your relationships jeopardized!

Is Forever Living a Scam?

Forever Living is definitely not a scam. The company is in business since such a long time that it can only be considered as legitimate. It is not a pyramid scheme neither.

Success does exist with Forever Living. If you have the requested skills, you really can make it! However, the business shows the same bad points as many other MLM companies: Heavy recruitment, sometimes false claims, a lack of figures to state on the income potential…

Still, members are struggling to make real income as such a business remain very hard...but this is exactly the same problem as a lot of other network marketing businesses.

To Conclude

To the question is Forever Living legit, I would say “yes”. You can be part of those who reach great success with the Forever Living program, but remember that chances remain thin.

To be honest, I do have a business opportunity to recommend. It is called Affiliate Marketing.

You don’t have to recruit people at all to make money, and you have the freedom to promote any product you want without being restricted to only promote the products from the same MLM company.

Affiliate Marketing is a way to avoid scams and find the legitimate way to make money online.
